I live in LA with Andy, my amazing and talented husband who is a photographer. I grew up in Singapore, but I always knew I'd live overseas one day - even thought I didn't know HOW. Prior to LA, we were also fortunate to have also lived, worked and played in NYC.
First and foremost, I am a human being. I operate from a place of love, respect and integrity.
Professionally, I’m a certified Life Coach, Artist, and Motivational Speaker. I provide 1-1 coaching, workshops for women, and create art that is intended to inspire.
My background consists of a single-parent family in Asia, personal struggles with authority and abuse, an attempted suicide, unhealthy relationships, and 16 years in the corporate world of advertising and marketing.
After graduating from University, I climbed the corporate ladder, pretty much like everyone else. I worked in international ad agencies with names that sounded like law firms (cue: snarky joke about lawyers and ad people). I worked my way from Intern to Account Director, from Singapore to NYC. After I paid off my tuition loans and had more than my fair share of being burnt out, that ladder-climbing thing lost its shine - I couldn't find my WHY anymore. I was exhausted, frustrated and felt ALONE. Personally and professionally, my relationships were not where I wanted them to be. I had created and enjoyed material successes, but my spirit was broke.
My search for a way out of my funk led me to work with a life coach, where I learnt the power of self-reflection and the opportunity to CHOOSE DIFFERENTLY, DEFINE MY PERSONAL VALUES and be AUTHENTIC TO MYSELF. Having a life coach taught me that I have all the answers, except that I may not be asking myself the right questions that are focused on getting me out of my own way and live an intentional life - based on intentions I SET FOR MYSELF. (Screw what “other people” say. They have their own lives they can influence. I will create my own, thank you.)
Becoming a life coach was a process that took years of deep soul-searching and many different methods of seeking clarity (from tarot cards to sound baths - you name it!). Let's just say that when my calling came, it was something I could not ignore. It is an honor to be of service to others by harnessing my natural gifts and life experiences to help others who are struggling and feeling stuck. Because I know how it feels.
I've always been told that I've got a magnetic positive energy, the ability to see and think objectively (for others), and I bring honesty in a way that people are willing to accept. Plus, I'm determined AF (my husband and mom prefer to label it as "stubborn", but they are biased. Which is why friends and family don't always make good coaches.)
I bring these skills as a coach, and partner my clients to guide them to where they want to be through a combination of logic+magic.
One of the photos above features my latest creative endeavor - my business cards inspired by my love for fortune cookies and affirmations. Each card has been written and designed by me. I don't know how to use traditional design software nor did I go to design school, but I have a love for learning, color and fun! Ever since I started giving out my business cards, I've received requests for WHOLE SETS of my business cards - yes, it's crazy but true; who ever heard of anyone wanting to BUY somebody's business cards right?! I'm very proud that these cards been welcomed to homes in NY, London, Cape Town, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, India and Australia.
I've recently made a version of the deck without my contact details, so it can live as its own - as inspiration cards that one can shuffle and pick whenever the need arises (because sometimes all we REALLY need is a frickin sign!).

My fav mantra is, "DO DOPE SHIT".
Besides making shit dope through coaching, creating workshops, speaking, or creating art, I love to help people in any way that is possible for me - and that includes helping other artists and coaches, connecting people, and more.
